Bin Squad, bin day sorted

Bin Squad

Bin day comes round every week, and it is still the easiest thing in the house to forget. Bin Squad is the reminder that turns up the night before, when there is still time to do something about it.

No account. No address. No sign-up. You tell it which bins you have and when they go out, and that is the last admin it ever asks of you.

WHAT IT DOES

The bins, remembered for you

Everything Bin Squad does, it does on your phone, from the schedule you gave it.

Reminded the night before

When there is still time to do something about it, and again on the morning of collection in case last night did not happen. Both optional, both at times you choose.

However many bins you have

Weekly, fortnightly, or any interval you like. Bins going out on the same day are treated as one trip to the kerb, because that is what it is.

Bank holidays flagged, never guessed

Councils shift collections inconsistently, so Bin Squad warns you one is coming and lets you move that collection yourself rather than quietly moving it for you.

Skip or move a single collection

Without touching the pattern. Every skip and move is listed, with a button to put it back.

Quiet hours

So a reminder never arrives at half past six on a Sunday morning.

Nothing leaves your phone

No account to make, no address to give, no analytics. Export the lot to a plain file if you want to keep it or send it to whoever else deals with the bins.

Captain Garbage and the crew, a cast of bin characters

THE CREW

Bins with strong opinions about rubbish

Captain Garbage runs a crew of bins with rather more personality than the job requires. General Gus, Recycler Ray, Compost Chloe, Caddy Carl, Yellow Bella, and Barry, who is a rat and owns no bin at all.

Mark a collection as done and you build a streak. Clear every bin day in a week and that is a Perfect Week. Keep it up and more of the crew turn up, each with a job title and firm views on what goes where.

None of it ever gets in the way of the information. Every reminder names the bin, the day and what you need to do, however daft the line underneath it is.

OR NONE OF THAT

Just the facts

Pick “Just the facts” and the whole thing goes quiet. Plain colours, plain bin icons, no crew, no streaks, no jokes. Same dates, same reminders, same app underneath. Your bin schedule does not change because you did not want a cartoon rat.

You can switch between the two whenever you like, and your progress is still there if you switch back.

PRICING

Free with two bins, forever

The free plan covers the general waste and the recycling, with all the points, streaks and rewards. The Full Experience adds every other bin type and opens the rest of the crew.

A note on dates

Your collection dates come from what you enter, not from your council. Bin Squad reminds you of the schedule you gave it. If something looks wrong, check with your council, and Cap will follow whatever you tell him.
